7/23/2018: It's finally done. My next APP is finally out (Android and in a few days, Apple). That took a lifetime. My next one should go a little faster. Maybe. Why is this entry double spacing? Beats me. I can never figure that out. 2/6/2018: So a long time later, here I am with some news. I'm deep into my next APP finally. It's a kid's Christian book called AFK: Apologetics for Kids. The picture above shows two of the characters. I've set a deadline, which is the end of this month, otherwise I would just procrastinate more. So I have to get back at it. Stay tuned.
11/2015: So I've updated my APP finally and made a huge change, the name. It's now called Gabe and the Pesky Bug. It will be much easier to tell people the name of the APP now. Saying Aw, Peanuts was confusing. It has a few new things, especially the title page and a cool effect on the page where he meets the grasshopper. I've scrapped the Cora APP for now. I redrew it twice and I just wasn't digging it. Cora is not happy with me. :( I've turned my attention to the IAN comic strip for the Kindle store and at the same time make it into another Talespring interactive book.
3/2015: Wow, I was completely wrong about the timing. I'm still not done. In fact, I put the thing away for a while because I didn't like the Cora character I had picked out. She seemed too tomboyish and I wanted a more girly-girl look. So I finally came up with one I like. Also, I was waiting for Talespring to introduce folders for their software, because I did not want to go through the ONE GIANT FOLDER for all the pictures again. It was a big pain to scroll through all the pictures I uploaded to find the most recent one. Fortunately, they've added the folders! No more hand cramps. So, in a month or so, I should be close to done. Hopefully. I'm trying to figure out how to do a maze with the software and a few other surprises.
In other e-book news, Amazon came out with Kindle Children's book making software. It's simpler than Talespring, not as interactive, but I'm looking into one for that platform, since Talespring is only Apple stuff and I actually own a Windows Phone now. I've started redrawing my IAN comics and coloring them and am thinking of doing that for the Kindle book. Once I get more done on that, I will post some pictures.
6/4/14: CANCELLED(yeah, didn't like the drawings--maybe in the future)
The new story is written and mapped out and I've drawn a few of the pages. It's called Cora's Messy Room as of right now. I think I made a mistake in naming the last one "Aw, Peanuts!" as you have to sort of explain the meaning. Bad call. This APP stars, of course, my daughter Cora. This one is going to be very interactive and will not feature the Boredom Bug, but Cora's guinea pig as the little trouble maker. It will also feature a secret story within a story written by Cora herself and a few more surprises. I think I can finish the app in a few weeks. Stay tuned.
5/14/13: Update is ready for download. That's it for now. Still working on promoting. I've started working on drawings for the next book, though I also want to do a realistic drawing of Elvis (yes, I'm a fan) in the coming days...I feel the need.
5/1/13: I turned in an update for the APP today! It will be available in a few days. I fixed the two typos (obviously the work of the devil) and sharpened the lettering and smoothed out some transitions, which are a little rough on some of the pages. I also fixed a bunch of the drawings which were a little faded, added a few little surprises, and reworked a few drawings as well. I also fixed the narration so now you can stop it at any time. I think that's it for this story for a while. I have been teaching myself how to promote the book and will finally send out promo codes to review sites. Wish me luck.
Right now I'm developing a book which will feature the other character in Aw, Peanuts, Cora. Hey, she needs a harrowing tale too! What exactly was under that bed anyway? We may never know. I will update as I get closer. -CB
