                  IAN

                  Picture
For two years I drew a comic strip called "IAN" for the Salt Lake Tribune. Best job ever. I wish I could have developed it a little more. Getting a comic strip in a paper is extremely difficult, especially if a syndication company isn't representing you. I got pretty lucky, considering at first, I didn't think it was very good...lol. It got better as I went along. IAN was running in my college paper at the time, the University of Utah, and I was a local artist, so that helped. It's basically about 3 little boys and their adventures. I find that comic strips lack physical comedy--what's better than Charlie Brown being blown up by a baseball on a pitcher's mound? Not much. So I used a lot of the kids doing nutty things and getting messed up, just like all kids do. And unlike other little boys in comic strips, he was a good kid, got good grades, and obeyed his Mom....weird! Here are a few fan favorites and some I liked. If you would like to use IAN for your publication or newsletter or whatever, please contact me. I guess I should mention the copyright stuff...well I just did. Enjoy.
