I recently made a small presentation at the Independence Art Association. It was to highlight how to make an art website and just to show my different art projects and artwork--I'm a little younger than most of the artists there. Unfortunately, there was no wifi, so half my talk went up in smoke, but I went with it and it turned out fine. They seemed interested, especially in the APP and some of my realistic artwork. I was also encouraged to pursue some different avenues to promote my art a little more, which I will probably look in to. Overall, it was a success. :)
My new APP Cora's Messy Room is in full swing. Check out the e-book section for more info. Here's what she looks like.

Added a new picture to the markers gallery. Gave this to my wife as a gift. I think I'm getting a little better with markers. I'm debating which project to do next, the app book or just pump out lots of portraits for something I have in mind for the future. I just need to get drawing, I've been lazy lately.
Working on a new design for the website, the last one wasn't working for me. I'm trying to simplify everything, few pagers, etc.
I've started working with markers on bigger pieces. It's a nice change from just drawing. So I created a second gallery because it doesn't quite go with the sketches.
Pasted all my updates into one blog post and then I'll start over. 4/9/13: The book is now in the APP store! LINK for those who have iTunes. Tell your friends, tell them to tell other friends, alert the media! I already see a mistake which I missed, but will correct as soon as possible, but it looks great! 4/1/13: I turned the book in to Talespring a few days ago and it should be in the iTunes APP store in two weeks. Very excited, glad I'm finally finished because I tweaked the book up until the last day. How many hours spent on it? Hundreds. I've added a page for the book under Peanuts. 3/9/13: Wow, I was way off. Not finished yet. Every time I get close, I decide to change a picture which means redrawing it, add a sound, add more animation, etc etc. But I am closer. All that's left is the narration which my wife is going to do whenever she gets around to it. Grr. I might just do it myself. Want to send it to Talespring within a week or two. Who knows. 12/23/12: Only one picture left to color and then formatting it for the program I'm using. Another month at the most and I'll be done with the app. 10/17/12: Coloring is almost done. I've started putting the book into the program I'm using. It's by a company called Talespring. Taking a lifetime, as I learn to use the program. The hardest part was making the background of the pictures transparent so when I moved them, it would be just the drawing and not the white background. I nearly lit myself on fire at one point. But I figured it out, no thanks to the billions of forums I visited. I will post a video of one of the pages in action. 3/25/12: Finally got all the sketches done and have begun coloring with markers. This is cover(Took a picture of it. It's slightly tilted to the right, when I tried adjusting, it blurred the picture so I left it that way.) --> 2/15/12: I've basically dropped everything and started working on illustrating the children's book I wrote. The picture to the right is a sample. Will self-publish as an APP. Also, the audio in videos is now working. 12/8/11: Added a Comic Book Heroes page to "Comics" section. Added two comic book style drawings. 11/22/11: Been writing and drawing comic book style drawings, will probably upload those I suppose. 8/18/11: Added finished drawing of Gene Tierney to gallery slide. 8/11/11: Added another sample menu. 8/5/11: Added a Guestbook. 7/11: Found this great website builder, weebly.com, ridiculously easy to use, so I'm finally doing the site the way I want it. Most everything is up, just working on the look. |
