                  Artist Bio

                  Picture
Carlos  has been doodling ever since he can remember. He is self-taught, having honed  his drawing skills on the pages of all his school books. In college, he created  "IAN,” a comic strip about three little boys which was picked up by his college
paper, The Daily Utah Chronicle. A few weeks later it was picked up by the largest paper in Utah,  The Salt Lake Tribune. It ran for two years. Located in Independence, Missouri, he has entered many art shows and has won several first place awards for his realistic drawings which you see here today. The latest  awards were 2nd place in "drawing" at the 2011 Blue Springs Fine Art Show with "Goofball Chronicles", 3rd “Best in Show” at the 2009 Blue Springs Fine Art Show and  first place at the 2009 Independence Art Association show. The latter two were for the drawing Sweets on a Bridge, which is a picture of his two kids, Cora and Gabriel. He has also drawn kid’s menus for local restaurants.
Carlos was born in Chile and moved to the States when he was nine. He is a graduate of the University of Utah, a veteran of Desert Storm and is now a local mailman. He has been married to Audree for 15 years. He is currently working on illustrations for a children’s book which he recently wrote. Like all artists, he wishes he could draw for a living.
